The Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics is headed by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Nechuiviter Olesia Petrivna.
At the Department on a permanent basis works 9 lecturers and two support staff. Three lecturers – Doctors of Science (3%), 8 have academic degrees and titles (89%).
The Department teach and train bachelors and masters in the following specialties:
- A5 Vocational education (Digitalization technologies);
- 126 Information systems and technologies.
Scientific Work
The Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics continues to develop the scientific school “Quality of Human-Technical Control and Learning Systems,” founded by Professor Akiva Toviyovich Asherov. Ten candidates of technical and pedagogical sciences have defended their theses within this scientific school.
The scientific school “Theory of Approximation of Multivariable Functions Using Interpolation, Interpolation, and Mixed Approximation Operators,” founded by Professor Oleg Mykolayovych Lytvyn, winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, is also actively working at the department.
Educational and Methodical Work
The Department of Information Computer and Polygraphy Technologies is the basic unit of the Academy for Disciplines «Computer Science and Computer Technologies», «Computer Technologies in the Office» and «Engineering and Computer Graphics».
The Department is base for two specialties. Staffs of the Department conduct classes with students from the first year study up to the delivery of diplomas. All this causes a large volume of educational and methodological work executed at the department. Lecturers of the department have prepared and are constantly improving about 30 training courses.
In the educational process, along with traditional learning tools, adapted to modern requirements, e-learning technologies are widely used. A good material and technical base, including two laboratories and a modern computer class, also contributes to high quality of education. Over the past five years, 4 textbooks and tutorials have been published, more than 100 methodological works, lecture notes, programs have been introduced into the educational process, 200 hours of laboratory work have been prepared.
International cooperation
The Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics is a leader in international cooperation at the academy. The Ukrainian National Section of the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) operates on the basis of the department. The Center for Retraining and Advanced Training of Teachers of Technical Universities under the IGIP International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (Center for Engineering Pedagogy) largely involves teachers from the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics in conducting classes.
The department’s teachers have established long-term cooperation with the Technical University of Gabrovo (Bulgaria) and the University of Niš (Serbia).
The department is implementing the Erasmus+ international project “MOOC-based micro-credentials for teacher professional development” (CRED4TEACH). The CRED4TEACH project aims to develop innovative training programs for teaching staff and create opportunities to obtain micro-qualifications based on massive open online courses (MOOCs).
